Jason RIPPL
Practical leadership for positive change — protecting every family in Winnebago County with integrity and accountability.
Meet Jason Rippl
- Deputies Association Union Board Director
- Field Training Officer
- Deputies Association Union Contract Negotiator
I am seeking the office of Sheriff of Winnebago County to continue my commitment to serve the people who live and work here — through accountable leadership, strong community partnerships, and a Sheriff's Office that operates with professionalism and integrity. I hope to lead the next generation of deputies and inspire them to that same standard of service. I do not seek this position as a stepping stone to higher political office. I have one humble goal: to leave Winnebago County better than I found it.
I have proudly served the people of Winnebago County for more than 28 years through law enforcement, public safety, and community service.
My law enforcement career began in 1998 with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit. During that time, I also worked part-time for the City of Omro Police Department, Village of Winneconne Police Department, and Town of Winneconne Police Department, as well as one year full-time with the Village of Winneconne Police Department.
In 2001, I was hired as a Corrections Officer at the Winnebago County Jail, and in 2002 I transferred to the Patrol Division, where I continue to serve today.
Service to my community extends beyond law enforcement. I am a volunteer firefighter and First Responder with the Town of Winchester Fire Department, where I hold the rank of Captain within the First Responder Group. I am also a volunteer with the Boys' & Girls' Brigade of Neenah and previously served six years on its Board of Directors.
I am Winnebago County born and raised, a 1996 graduate of Neenah High School, and I earned my Police Science degree from Fox Valley Technical College.
Jason in the Community
My Priorities
Public Safety First
Increase patrol presence in underserved areas, reduce response times, and ensure every deputy has the training and equipment to do their job safely.
Community Trust
Increase engagement between the Sheriff's Office and the communities we serve through a dedication to transparency, regular town halls, and practical leadership.
Mental Health & Addiction
Expand co-responder programs pairing deputies with mental health professionals, and further support diversion resources that address root causes.
Accountability
Winnebago County Sheriff's Office already has strong accountability measures in place, and I'm committed to upholding those high standards while supporting a culture of professionalism and integrity.
Staffing & Retention
Strengthen the Sheriff's Office's focus on employee retention, recognizing that retaining quality employees improves morale, supports recruitment efforts, provides consistency in service to our communities, and reduces the costs associated with hiring and training new staff.
Modern Technology
Upgrade dispatch systems, records management, and field technology so deputies spend less time on paperwork and more time protecting the public.
